Land surveying is the detailed study or inspection, as by gathering information through observations, measurements in the field, questionnaires, or research of legal instruments, and data analysis in the support of planning, designing, and establishing of property boundaries.
Importance-
- Surveying is important and most of us depend on it so as to ensure order in the physical world around us. Surveyors play an integral role in land development, from the planning and designing of land subdivisions to the final construction of roads, utilities and landscaping.
Property survey –
- A property survey is a document that shows your property lines including any land, structures, and features that you legally own (versus that which you don’t own!) as a schematic diagram of angles and measurements.
Use-
- Land surveying is a scientific technique used to determine a property’s points and distances between them. In many cases, these points are used to create boundaries for ownership and establish land maps. Land surveyors use physics, mathematics, engineering and law to establish land boundaries.
Work-
- Modern Theodolite called total stations, can not only measure angles, but distance as well and they have on-board computers to do the calculations and record the data for later use.
- When you see a surveyor peering through a funny telescope, its probably a total station and he/she is probably sighting a reflector to record the location of a point.
